I am interested in the interface between biology and computation. I am especially focused on modelling and simulation of evolutionary processes.

My research areas include International Economics (particularly the general equilibrium impact of factor mobility), Macroeconomics, Development Economics, and Agent-Based Computational Economics.

My research interests include statistical mechanics, chaos theory and complex systems. I am also interested in simulations of social and economical systems.

Currently I develop ABM models to follow up issues raised in my previous research on trade between hunting groups and long-distance trade, territoriality and migration patterns.

IRPact - An integrated agent based modeling approach in innovation diffusion

Goal: The goal of IRPact is to develop a flexible and generic innovation-diffusion ABM (agent-based modelling) framework, based on requirements derived from a literature analysis. The aim of IRPact is to allow for modeling a large number of application contexts and questions of interest.
It provides a formal model (framework) as well as a software implementation in order to assist modelers with a basic infrastructure for their own research.
Conceptually it is thought to be part of the IRPsim (https://irpsim.uni-leipzig.de), with the vision to bring together rational approaches and cognitive modeling in an integrated approach within the context of sustainable energy markets.

Mainly interested in studying social networks of learners, teachers, and innovators. Uses Social Network Analysis, but also sentiment analysis, data mining, and recommender system techniques.
