The Research Centre CETINIA (https://en.cetinia.es/) at the University Rey Juan Carlos in Madrid, Spain. This role is within the Research Project “AGROBOTS”
Arizona State University’s School of Complex Adaptive Systems has an opening for a social or ecological scientist, with expertise in scientific modeling, to work with an interdisciplinary team to design, develop, refine, and apply cyberinfrastructure that supports computational models of the complex interactions and dynamics in social-ecological systems.
The Argelander professorship Integrated System Modeling for Sustainability Transitions at the Rheinische-Friedrich-Wilhelms-University Bonn, Germany, is inviting applications for a Position as a Doctoral researcher. The full list of tasks, profile, and what the position offers can be seen here – https://wbarfuss.github.io/join/
This person will help design, develop, communicate and apply bird sub-models of an Agent Based Model to simulate effects of interacting stressors on least bells vireos (an endangered bird species found in southern California). This video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c0DQPcSk-Qg) provides a 1/2 hour project summary. Ideal candidates will be familiar with ABM and have strong scientific writing skills. Questions can be directed to Dr. Pat Zollner.
The Department of Management Science at the University of Strathclyde is hiring for a lecturer position (Assistant professor).
The lecturer search is across all the Department’s research themes, with one of the five main areas of interest being complex systems simulation.
The Department conducts research on improving simulation methods rigour, including agent-based modelling, system dynamics, discrete-event simulation, and hybrid models. It also teaches the three simulation methods.
The BarfussLab seeks a motivated and talented doctoral researcher to join our team in modeling human-environment systems. The position is for three years with the possibility of extension. The successful candidate will work on developing, implementing, and analyzing mathematical models of human-environment interactions at the intersection of complex systems science, multi-agent reinforcement learning, and social-ecological resilience.
You will work on a project, funded by the European Research Council, called Data Assimilation for Agent-Based Models (DUST). The project is developing agent-based computer simulations that can be used to model social phenomena – such as disease spread, traffic congestion, or crowding in busy public places – in real-time, with the aim of providing valuable, up-to-date information to decision makers. Agent-based modelling is an ideal methodology for this type of simulation but has rarely been[…]
This postdoc will work with all collaborators under the direction of Dr. Pat Zollner to develop an Agent Based Model of the behaviors of cage free chickens. This work will be informed by extensive empirical work and will use ODD & TRACE for documentation to compare alternative cage free housing systems based on chicken welfare and laying of eggs outside nest boxes. Work will incorporate perspectives from industry as well as interested non-governmental organizations.
Developing artificial populations for digital twins and ABMs
This postdoc will help design, develop and apply an Agent Based Model simulating the effects of stressors on least bells vireos (an endangered bird species found in southern California).
