WSC 2015 Call for Papers
December 6-9, Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort and Spa
Huntington Beach, California, USA
www.wintersim.org/2015
The Winter Simulation Conference (WSC) is the premier international forum for disseminating recent advances in the field of dynamic systems modeling and simulation. In addition to a technical program of unsurpassed scope and quality, WSC provides the central meeting place for simulation practitioners, researchers and vendors. Research in modeling and simulation is propelled by fostering cross fertilization between various disciplines. The theme for WSC 2015 is “Social and Behavioral Simulation.”
LOCATION
WSC 2015 will be held at the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort and Spa in Huntington Beach, California. The resort is one of Southern California’s most popular seaside destinations and is located on the Pacific Highway, which extends along the entire coast of California. Popularly known as “Surf City,” Huntington Beach offers over eight miles of pristine shoreline. The resort has direct access to Huntington Beach and many area attractions.
KEYNOTE SPEAKERS
Joshua Epstein is the Plenary Keynote Speaker. Dr. Epstein is Professor of Emergency Medicine and Director, Center for Advanced Modeling in the Social, Behavioral and Health Sciences at Johns Hopkins University. He pioneered the technique of agent-based modeling, which is considered a transformative innovation, earning him the prestigious 2008 National Institutes of Health Director’s Pioneer Award. Dr. Epstein’s work has had a profound influence on the integrated computational modeling of social, behavioral, and biomedical dynamics.
Timothy H. Chung is the Military Track Keynote Speaker. Dr. Chung is Assistant Professor of Systems Engineering at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California. His research interests include multi-agent coordination for information gathering applications, operations and decision support for robotic systems, and probabilistic search. Prof Chung is the Deputy Director of the Consortium for Robotics and Unmanned Systems Education and Research (CRUSER). He is a Gates Millennium Scholar alumnus and recipient of numerous professional service awards.
TITANS OF SIMULATION
Pierre L’Ecuyer holds the Canada Research Chair in Stochastic Simulation and Optimization at the University of Montreal since 2004 and an Inria International Chair (Inria-Rennes, France) for 2013-2018. He has published more than 240 scientific articles on simulation methods and developed software libraries for analysis of discrete-event simulation.
Averill M. Law is the founder of Averill M. Law & Associates, Inc., the world leader in simulation training. He is the founder and president of ALA, and is widely considered to be one of the foremost experts on simulation modeling, and is the author of Simulation Modeling and Analysis (5th Edition, McGraw-Hill, 2014). He was awarded the 2009 INFORMS Simulation Society Lifetime Professional Achievement Award.

PAPER DEADLINES AND REQUIREMENTS
All contributed paper submissions will be peer reviewed. Accepted papers will be published in the CD-ROM version of the conference proceedings. All papers must be presented for the paper to be fully published, copyrighted and disseminated. Instructions, information, submission forms and procedures are available on the WSC website, www.wintersim.org/2015.
Contributed Paper Deadlines
April 1, 2015: Electronically submit contributed papers not previously published or presented. Each submission must be a 5- to 12-page paper, including an abstract of not more than 150 words. The page size in the proceedings is 8.5 by 11 inches (21.6 cm by 27.9 cm). The overall length of the paper should be at least 5 proceedings pages. Papers should be at most 12 pages, except for introductory tutorials, advanced tutorials, and panel sessions, for which the limit is 15 pages. Submission implies that an author will attend WSC 2015 and present the paper, and all clearances required for publication of the paper will be obtained by July 15, 2015. Use of the authors’ templates in one of the following formats is required: Microsoft Word or LaTeX. Submissions must be made through the WSC website www.wintersim.org/2015.
June 1, 2015: Notification of acceptance to authors.
July 15, 2015: Authors electronically submit, to the Proceedings Editor, final manuscripts meeting all technical and format requirements.
