9 Maturity levels in Empirical Validation - An innovation diffusion example

Martin Rixin | Published Wednesday, October 19, 2011 | Last modified Saturday, April 27, 2013

Several taxonomies for empirical validation have been published. Our model integrates different methods to calibrate an innovation diffusion model, ranging from simple randomized input validation to complex calibration with the use of microdata.

ABODE - Agent Based Model of Origin Destination Estimation

D Levinson | Published Monday, August 29, 2011 | Last modified Saturday, April 27, 2013

The agent based model matches origins and destinations using employment search methods at the individual level.

The various technologies used inside a Dutch greenhouse interact in combination with an external climate, resulting in an emergent internal climate, which contributes to the final productivity of the greenhouse. This model examines how differing technology development styles affects the overall ability of a community of growers to approach the theoretical maximum yield.

Toward Market Structure as a Complex System: A Web Based Simulation Assignment Implemented in Netlogo

Timothy Kochanski | Published Monday, February 14, 2011 | Last modified Saturday, April 27, 2013

This is the model for a paper that is based on a simulation model, programmed in Netlogo, that demonstrates changes in market structure that occur as marginal costs, demand, and barriers to entry change. Students predict and observe market structure changes in terms of number of firms, market concentration, market price and quantity, and average marginal costs, profits, and markups across the market as firms innovate. By adjusting the demand growth and barriers to entry, students can […]

A simulation of the structure of academic science

Nigel Gilbert | Published Friday, December 31, 2010 | Last modified Saturday, April 27, 2013

This is a re-implementation of the model described in Gilbert, Nigel. (1997). A simulation of the structure of academic science. Sociological Research Online, 2(2)3, http://www.socresonline.org.uk/

The model combines the two elements of disorganization and motivation to explore their impact on teams. Effects of disorganization on team task performance (problem solving)

Exploration and Exploitation in Parallel Problem Solving Effect of Agent’s Imitation Strategy

Hua Zhang | Published Saturday, June 27, 2009 | Last modified Saturday, April 27, 2013

I extend Lazer’s model by adding agent’s two kinds of imitation strategies: selective imitation and structurally equivalent imitation. I examined the effect of interaction of network with agent behavi
