ED simulation

Emilio Sulis | Published Sunday, October 15, 2017

The functioning of an hospital ED. The use case concerns an hospital in Italy which is moving in a new building. Simulations interest both new and old department, to investigate changes by exploring KPIs.

Peer reviewed Least cost path mobility

Colin Wren Claudine Gravel-Miguel | Published Saturday, September 02, 2017 | Last modified Monday, October 04, 2021

This model aims to mimic human movement on a realistic topographical surface. The agent does not have a perfect knowledge of the whole surface, but rather evaluates the best path locally, at each step, thus mimicking imperfect human behavior.

InnovationGame

Madeline Tyson | Published Thursday, August 24, 2017

This model includes an innovation search environment. Agents search and can share their findings. It’s implemented in Netlogo-Hubnet & a parallel Netlogo model. This allows for validation of search strategies against experimental findings.

The model combines the two elements of disorganization and motivation to explore their impact on teams. Effects of disorganization on team task performance (problem solving)

Online Collaboration, Competing for Attention

M Manning | Published Wednesday, July 19, 2017 | Last modified Thursday, January 24, 2019

This is a model of a community of online communities. Using mechanisms such as win-stay, lose-shift, and preferential attachment the model can reproduce similar patterns to those of the Stack Exchange network.

This model allows for the investigation of the effect spatial clustering of raw material sources has on the outcome of the neutral model of stone raw material procurement by Brantingham (2003).

This code simulates the WiFi user tracking system described in: Thron et al., “Design and Simulation of Sensor Networks for Tracking Wifi Users in Outdoor Urban Environments”. Testbenches used to create the figures in the paper are included.

Peer reviewed CHIME ABM Hurricane Evacuation Model

Joshua Watts | Published Friday, March 03, 2017 | Last modified Wednesday, May 29, 2019

The CHIME ABM explores information distribution networks and agents’ protective decision making in the context of hurricane landfall.

Peer reviewed A Model of Global Diversity and Local Consensus in Status Beliefs

André Grow Andreas Flache Rafael Wittek | Published Wednesday, March 01, 2017 | Last modified Wednesday, October 25, 2017

This model makes it possible to explore how network clustering and resistance to changing existing status beliefs might affect the spontaneous emergence and diffusion of such beliefs as described by status construction theory.

The original Ache model is used to explore different distributions of resources on the landscape and it’s effect on optimal strategies of the camps on hunting and camp movement.
